Conservative Talking Points
Bloomberg Blues - Mayor Bloomberg has officially left the Republican Party and is entering the ambiguous "independent" camp. This move sets the Mayor up for an independent bid for the White House which will rely on his spreading of bi-partisan vibes in a divided field of candidates. Everyone in Washington politics is already in a bi-partisan mood as both Republicans and Democrats are equally thrilled that he is in neither of our respective political camps.
Jimmy Carter - Democrat Extraordinaire - Jimmy Carter opened his mouth again this week and yammered on about Hamas and Gaza and American failure, etc. If Democrats really want to win swing voters, they are going to have to figure out a way to shut Jimmy up. We did our part; Pat Buchanan has been exiled to the McLaughlin group for at least five years now.
Universal Health Care - Now You See It, Now You Don't - Apparently, not many of the Democrat Presidential candidates are going to rally behind Michael Moore's newest political propaganda movie, "Sicko". Unrealistic, socialist, and far out of the main stream, Moore's plan for universal health care looks to Canada and Cuba as models for our health care system. Moore should know better than to propose a plan for his party and should have stuck to the anti-Bush, anti-freedom models of his last films. Now that's something the Democrats can get behind.
Touchy Feely - "Somehow, somewhere along the way, faith stopped being used to bring us together and started being used to drive us apart." - Senator Barack Obama speaking on faith in politics. Forgive Obama; he's a liberal and confuses that gooey kumbaya please everybody ideology with faith. They don't call them bleeding heart liberals for nothing.
Which America Are You?? Edwards is revisiting his two Americas analogy where he categorizes one America as super/fantastic and the other as disadvantaged/troubled. Well, in 2004 he couldn't get elected in either of these Americas so I propose something innovative. I propose that he divide America up into 50 individual categories, maybe call them states, and talk about their role in relation to our country. |
