Conservative Talking Points
Seeds of Terror - A new Democratic bill dealing with national security requires a study of the effects of global warming on national security. This bill titled, "Out with the old Al and in with the new Al", directs the CIA to stop paying attention to Al Qaeda and start paying attention to Al Gore.
Man of the People - Former Senator and Presidential hopeful John Edwards says he has no plans right now to request secret service protection and prefers direct access to the public. The Secret Service currently provides protection to top tier candidates Clinton and Obama. Kudos to Edwards' advisors who must be working overtime to continue to convince the candidate that secret service protection is a choice and not based on notoriety.
God Given Guts - At the Republican presidential debate, Huckabee, Tancredo, and Brownback were the only three candidates to go on record as not believing in evolution. This should stand in stark contrast to the other seven candidates for President. Like em or not, at least these three have the guts to say what they believe. You would think a monkey was actually asking the other candidates that question.
What's the Point? - President Bush sent a letter to Congressional leaders assuring them that he would veto any legislation that seeks to strengthen abortion rights. This preemptive move was in response to a recent Supreme Court decision siding with the pro-life movement. I'm the first to criticize the President when it is warranted and this is definitely the case. The President didn't need to send this letter. The Democrats haven't done anything of any domestic substance since they took power; this letter is just going to give them ideas.
Super Congress - Liberals and the press are scratching their heads as Attorney General Alberto Gonzales refuses to resign and can't be pegged by conspiracy theorists. Congress will continue their investigation but admits that it is difficult to investigate crimes and misdemeanors and wishes that there was another branch of government exclusively devoted to justice.
