BLUE FATHER

Democratic Talking Points

As our nation celebrates Independence Day on July 4, 2007, Democrats must look back to July 4, 1776 for a fuller appreciation of President George Bush and his Republican Party.

Hee Haw--In 1776 Tom Paine pointed out in his booklet, Common Sense, that a major failure of monarchy was that the American people were presented with "an ass for a lion" in the person of King George. The similarities between President George and a jackass are too numerous to mention.

Blind Justice--Our Declaration of Independence accused King George of "obstructing the administration of justice." President George has succeeded in not only obstructing justice but actually eliminating the administration of justice through the appointment of Alberto Gonzales.

Thy will be done--Our Declaration of Independence accused King George of making "judges dependent on his Will alone for the tenure of their offices." Again, President George has followed the lead of his namesake in hiring and firing lawyers at the Justice Department based solely upon their political beliefs and loyalty.

Trial by Jury--Our Declaration of Independence accused King George of "depriving us in many cases, of the benefit of Trial by Jury." President George has been channeling King George's ghost at Guantánamo.

The Madness of George--King George was virtually insane for several long periods of time during his reign and his intelligence was quite limited. President George has never released his SAT scores, and he is still looking for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
